Notes for Jane Russell Cook
Jane Russell COOK Corn was the daughter of John Cook & Elizabeth COLEMAN Cook. The birth year on her stone is not correct, as she was born in 1824. None of her children were in Arkansas when she died and our Corn family thinks that perhaps one of her grandchildren added the stone a few years after her death. Her husband moved back to Kansas and we do not feel he put up the stone.
Jane was the wife of Jesse Adam Corn (14 April 1825 - 12 June 1901). Jane & Jesse Corn were the parents of fourteen children: Rachel Elizabeth, Hannah Louise, Joshua, John Adam, Alfred Leander, Margaret, Mary Ann, Cyrus Barney, James Harvey, Nancy Caroline, Robert Newton, Michael, Jesse Franklin 'Bud', Virgil Jasper and Martha Matilda. Jesse Corn was a Baptist Minister.
Jane was the daughter of John B. Cook 1773-1858 and wife Elizabeth Coleman 1780-1845. Jane was also the granddaughter of Thomas Cook 1748-1831 and Elizabeth Bowen 1753-1837.11
