Notes for William Fletcher Hammond
After William was divorced, he moved his family to Kansas City to work as a bookkeeper for his brothers. While living in Kansas City in the early 1920's, William F Hammond and his son Fletcher met a young Walt Disney before he was famous. William and Fletcher were two of only four people who invested in Walt's early company, Laugh-O-gram Studios. They were on the board of directors along with Walt, Red Lyon, and Edmund Wolf. The company later went bankrupt but of course Walt Disney didn't give up and the rest is history.
