Notes for Daniel Nathaniel Needham I

To my beloved wife Ruth, the improvement of all my housing
and land...during her natural life and then to be as hereafter
given, and all moveable effects...to be wholly at her own
disposal; to my son Ezekill Needham, one-half of all my
upland and salt marsh lying in Needham's Neck where I
formerly lived with six acres of land laid out to me on Lynn
Town commons; viz; that lot laid out to me in the 1st Division,
2 acres laid out to me in the 3rd division, that in the 4th
Division, the lot in the 5th Division, and my Nahant lot, all of
which I give to my son Ezekiell Needham during his life and
after his decease, then to be to his son Ezekiel Needham,
provided my son Ezekiel Needham or his son do pay all the
legacies hereafter given in my will immediately after mine and
my wife's decease, and if not paid within 3 months after mine
and my wife's decease, then the said lands to be (used) for
the payment of said legacies.
I give to my son Edmund Needham, his heirs, etc., one-half of
all my upland and salt marsh lying in Needham's Neck and the
one acre of land where he now lives, which I have already
given him by deed of gift the which is his full portion of my
estate with all the common lots laid out to my son Edmund
Needham.
I give to Susannah, the daughter of my son John Needham.
deceased, the sum of 10 pounds to be paid by my son
Ezekiel.
I give to the three children of my daughter, Judith Curtice,
deceased, twenty shillings each to be paid as above; the
reason I give (them) monies is because they had the greatest
part of their portion before she died.
I give to my daughter, Mary Needham, and to her heirs, etc.,
all that piece of land where i now live (excepting only the one
acre before given to my son Edmond, which piece of land
contains about 3 acres, with the houses and barn thereon,
with two lots of land laid out to me on the Common; to wit, the
two lots laid out to me in the 1st and 2nd drafts in the 2
Division of Lynn Town Commons.
I give to my daughter Elizabeth Sears the sum of 20 pounds to
be paid as above said.
I appoint my son Ezekiel Needham to be my sole Executor,
and I affix my hand and seal this first day of January 1717.

Daniel Needham, baptized 11 November 1638, of Lynn, Essex, Massachusetts, died 5 November 1717, aged 78 years. He is buried in the Western Burial Ground, Lynn, Essex, Massachusetts. He was a Freeman in 1691. His Will was signed January of 1717 and names children: Ezekial Needham; Susannah daughter of his son John Needham, the children of his daughter Judith Curtice, dec'd' Mary Needham and Elizabeth Sears.1
